When young Billy passes the old sweet shop one day, he notices that it has been turned into The Ladderless Window-Cleaning Company! But what kind of window-cleaning company can clean windows without a ladder?
A company that includes a giraffe, a pelican, and a monkey, of course! The giraffe is the ladder, the pelican, or the Pelly, is the bucket, and the monkey is the cleaner!
Billy soon makes fast friends with the three animals. The very same day, the Duke of Hampshire invites them to clean his windows.
While cleaning the windows, the Giraffe notices that there's a burglar in the Duke's house! The burglar is caught, but something very unfortunate happens to the Pelly's beak...
