Today I'll review The Mistmantle Chronicles:Urchin of the Riding Stars by M. I. McAllister.
The story is about Urchin, a little orphaned squirrel, who is born on the magical island of Mistmantle, on the important Night of the Riding Stars. He's destined to bring down a powerful ruler, and triumph over evil.
What does that mean, and who will he bring down?
When chaos starts among the animals, no-one can be trusted. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, a loyal courtier of the King is planning something quiet devious...
Will Urchin be able to overthrow the villain? Will peace reign once again among the creatures of Mistmantle?
This is a wonderful book and it is for children 8 and up.
M. I. McAllister lives in Yorkshire, England, and she has also written other Mistmantle Chronicle books such as Urchin and the Heartstone, Urchin and the Rage Tide, and many more.
I loved this book and it's really good, so try it out!
