It All Starts With Three Wishes...

Hello, everybody!
What would you do with three wishes? I know what I would wish for! That's why I'm reviewing the Children of the Lamp series.
Phillipa and John Gaunt are not identical twins, who are very close to each other and live in New York City. The series first starts when the twins both get their wisdom teeth when they're twelve! And when their housekeeper wishes that she can win a lottery, it really does happen! When their parents start whispering among themselves, they know that something is wrong.
That's when they learn that they are descended from a long line of djinn- that is, genies- and they now have the power to grant wishes and perform magic.
The kids are thrown into the world of  magic, mystery, luck, good and evil. They learn more about their family and the djinn world.
The books in the series are The Akhenaten Adventure, The Blue Djinn of Babylon, The Cobra King of Kathmandu, the Day of the Djinn Warriors, The Eye of the Forest and more.
P.B. Kerr is a British author who has also written The Second Angel, A Quiet Flame and many more books too.
I recommend this series for ages 8 and above.
I love the idea of the book and I think it is great!

Ivan, the Mighty Silverback

Hey, friends!
What about a story in which the main character is a gorilla? I'm going to review The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate.
Ivan is a  mighty, gentle silverback gorilla who lives in The Big Top Mall with his friends Stella the elephant  Bob the stray dog and Julie, a young girl. Although he was born in the wild, he can't remember anything about his life in the jungle.
When new baby elephant Ruby enters his life, everything changes. With the help of Stella and Bob, he sees his old home through new eyes and realizes that he has to stop Ruby from becoming just like them.
Using his artistic skills, Ivan hatches a plan to get to freedom. A journey of courage, bravery and compassion follows.
The question is, will he succeed?
And can Ivan finally become the mighty silverback he was always meant to be?
Katherine Applegate is the author of Home of the Brave and the Animorphs series. Inspired by a true story, the real Ivan is just like the book Ivan.
This story is for ages 8 and above.
The book is very sweet and also very funny since it is narrated by Ivan himself.
This book has also won a Newberry Award in 2013.
Animal lovers will really cherish this story and I honestly love it a lot!

The Big Red Dog

Hello, readers!
Today I'll review the Clifford: The Big Red Dog series by Norman Bridwell.
The main character is a girl, Emily Elizabeth, and her beloved dog, Clifford. Now, Clifford was much bigger than other dogs- as big as a house- and he was also the color red!
Emily Elizabeth got the dog from a neighbor who's dog had tiny puppies. The neighbor offered that she could take one home.
She wanted a little red dog, but the neighbor told her it was a runt and would always be sick.
However, she still chose the little red dog and named him Clifford. But soon, Clifford became as big as a house and they had to move to the country!
Clifford and Emily Elizabeth are best friends and they have many adventures with each other, along with other dogs and Emily Elizabeth's friends.
There are many books in the series, including Clifford's Halloween, Clifford Runs to Story Time, Clifford's Happy Mother's Day and many more. There are also special editions too.
Norman Bridwell has also written The Witch Next Door, which is about a kind witch. He got the idea of Clifford when he read about a large working dog in Belgium who used to pull carts.
These books are recommended for preschoolers to age eight.
I love these books because they are really nice and have great ideas!

13: The Unlucky Number

Hey, guys!
Recently I read this awesome book, called Room 13. It's written by Robert Swindells.
The night before Year 7 heads on a week long excursion at Whitby, Fliss gets a nightmare.
In her dream there's an old house. A room. A figure. Something that scares her so much that she is almost convinced that she shouldn't go to Whitby. But she does.
There, weird things happen in the Crow's Nest Hotel. Things are happening at midnight each night. Ellie-May, a girl in the class goes into Room 13 in the middle of the night.
The odd thing is, during the day Room 13 is just a linen cupboard, but at night the number 13 appears above the door.
Fliss knows something is going on inside the cupboard with Ellie-May. So, she and her fellow classmates Lisa, Gary and David try to guess what's going on.
With the help of a mad lady, Old Sal, Fliss learns the history of the Hotel and figures out what monster is hiding in Room 13.
Will they be able to destroy the monster in Room 13?
Robert Swindells has also written Ice Palace and Dracula's Castle.
This book is very good due to the fact that it's not very scary.
I recommend this book for ages 8 and above. I really love this book a lot!

On the Golden Brick Road...

Hello, readers!
Remember I reviewed the Wizard of Oz book? Well, most people don't know this, but there is actually a book series called Oz that takes place in the land of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum!
The series usually introduces new characters in each book. The Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion are also in the series.
In Oz, many magical problems erupt. Ozma, the real ruler of Oz goes missing, the Tin Woodman is searching for the Munchkin he loved before he turned into Tin, everybody goes overboard trying to give Ozma the perfect gift, people are performing magic without permission...
To sum it up, there are many different plots in the series! I love the different problems there are and I think this series is totally amazing.
In each book at the beginning before the story, L. Frank Baum writes a note about what inspired him to write the story. These books are usually written in three-in-one form with three stories in one large book.
L. Frank Baum wrote once that these books are for all those whose heart is young, no matter the age.
I love these books a lot! I give them a five-star rating.
You guys should definitely try this series out!
By the way, this is my 50th post! I've completed half a century! 

My Stuffed Tiger is Alive!

Hey guy!
Today I'm going to review the Calvin and Hobbes comic books today.
Calvin is a very, very naughty 6-year-old with a stuffed tiger, Hobbes, who is alive. Or at least he thinks so...
Both of them are always getting into trouble with Calvin's Mom and Dad in hilarious situations!
Calvin hates one of his neighbors, Susie, because she's smarter than him and everybody thinks she's better. He always tries to take advantage of her and always throws snowballs at her.
He also gets in trouble with his teacher and gets bad grades, not much to the surprise of his parents. He keeps on coming up with weird and dangerous ideas and rides his wagon down the hill with Hobbes!
Calvin and Hobbes is written by Bill Watterson, an American artist and author. His Calvin and Hobbes comic strips are also published in many newspapers.
These books are for ages 7 and above.
Some Calvin and Hobbes books are Revenge of the Baby-Sat, Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat, Yukon Ho!, and many more.
I love these comics and they will keep you in stitches!

These are MY Rules...

Hello friends!
I'm going to review the Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls series by Meg Cabot. The books are for girls, hence the title.
Allie is moving away from her old house, and her best friends! Correction: Ex-best friends. Then she finds out that her new house could possibly be haunted... Could things get worse?
Yes, they could, when Allie is bullied by the meanest girl in fourth grade, Rosemary, and when a new mean girl Cheyenne moves in too...
Luckily, though, she finds new friends and a best friend, Erica. The girls help Allie get used to her new school and life.
A lot of funny things happen in the series when Allie gets over her fears and realizes how important her friends are to her. Allie has a lot of family and friend issues, too.
Will Allie be able to settle down in her new town?
Meg Cabot is an award winning author of Avalon High and the Princess Diaries books. She has also written Airhead and Mediator.
I recommend these books for girls 8 and above. These books will put a smile on your face!
